Thirty mini-plays performed in 60 minutes about the ups and downs of dating, written and performed by an ensemble of minority performers drawing entirely from personal experience. Fast-paced, audience-interactive, and disarmingly honest — a format that made personal stories into shared comedy. The first in what became a beloved recurring series.
Lucky Chaos Theater Projects presents:
30 Dates in 60 Minutes!
June1, June 7 & 8, 8pm at Salvage Vanguard Theater
30 Mini Plays about the good, bad and downright ugly of dating in the 21st century!
Let’s face it – dating can be hard! For those single folks out there meeting people, this show is a reminder that you are not alone. The show takes a look at the ups, downs, the ridiculous, the surprising, and just plain weird aspects of dating in the 21st century.
All skits are written by the ensemble performers based on personal stories. The ensemble is made up of performers of Asian heritage and Hispanic heritage but we hope people of all backgrounds can appreciate our take on the trials and triumphs of dating!
The skits were collaboratively created through the 30/60 format started by The Neofuturists theatre company in Chicago (who encourage the use of their process). A key part of this process is absolute honesty among the writers/performers. Participants attempt to perform all 30 plays in 60 minutes. To determine which skit will be presented, the audience calls out a number from 1-30.
Luck determines your ticket price! $5 + what you roll at the door (roll of 6 gets you in free!). Dating is all about luck!
